Mechanical Assembly and Drivetrain Technician

Disassemble vehicles and components carefully while labeling, photographing, protecting, and organizing reusable parts and hardware.

Install engines, transmissions, differentials, driveshafts, suspension, brakes, steering, fuel, cooling, HVAC, exhaust, and related mechanical systems.

Fabricate or install hoses, lines, fittings, mounts, brackets, shields, fasteners, and supporting hardware.

Perform accurate measuring, mockup, alignment, clearance verification, torque procedures, fluid filling, and leak checks.

Troubleshoot mechanical fitment, driveline, cooling, fuel, braking, steering, HVAC, vibration, and operating concerns.

Follow drawings, work instructions, specifications, manufacturer procedures, and project documentation.

Coordinate interfaces with fabrication, electrical, body, paint, parts, project management, and quality control.

Maintain clean assembly practices and protect finished paint, upholstery, wiring, and customer components.

Strong automotive mechanical experience involving engines, transmissions, drivetrains, suspension, brakes, steering, fuel, cooling, or HVAC systems.

Experience with classic, performance, custom, restoration, race, or specialty vehicles is highly valuable.

Ability to read service information, drawings, specifications, wiring references, torque values, and installation instructions.

Competence with precision measuring tools, torque tools, lifting equipment, diagnostic equipment, and standard shop tools.

Strong organization and documentation habits when handling disassembled components, hardware, and project-specific parts.

Ability to identify fitment, clearance, serviceability, and safety concerns before final assembly.

Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate customer vehicles when authorized.

ASE or manufacturer certifications are beneficial.

Hands-on involvement with high-performance modern drivetrains and classic chassis integrations.

Clean, well-equipped assembly bays and specialized tooling.
