Responsibilities

Create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models of vehicle components, brackets, panels, assemblies, fixtures, and installation layouts.

Produce vehicle renderings and design presentations that communicate approved concepts, proportions, colors, materials, and features.

Perform or support 3D scanning, dimensional capture, reverse engineering, and digital comparison of existing parts and vehicle surfaces.

Develop shop drawings, cut files, templates, bills of material, and production-ready documentation.

Prepare files for CNC machining, laser, plasma, waterjet, additive manufacturing, and other digital-fabrication processes.

Coordinate design details with engineers, fabricators, body technicians, painters, assemblers, suppliers, and project managers.

Maintain organized file structures, revisions, naming conventions, and release records.

Support prototype review, test fitting, design changes, and as-built documentation.

Requirements
-
Demonstrated proficiency with 3D CAD and drafting software; SolidWorks or comparable professional software preferred.

Experience with automotive components, mechanical assemblies, fabricated parts, body surfaces, or product design.

Ability to convert measurements, scans, concepts, and field conditions into accurate models and production drawings.

Familiarity with design for fabrication, machining, welding, sheet metal, laser/plasma/waterjet cutting, and 3D printing.

Rendering, visualization, surface modeling, 3D scanning, CAM, or reverse-engineering experience is highly valuable.

Strong attention to dimensions, tolerances, revisions, file organization, and manufacturability.

Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and nontechnical team members.

A portfolio of CAD, rendering, digital fabrication, or related work may be requested.
