Restoration and Custom Body Technician

Assess, repair, replace, modify, align, and fit steel, aluminum, fiberglass, and composite body panels as assigned.

Perform rust removal, sectioning, patch fabrication, panel replacement, metal finishing, shrinking, stretching, and related repair work.

Develop consistent fit and show-quality gaps for doors, hoods, deck lids, fenders, beds, trim, glass openings, and related components.

Apply and shape body filler, glazing materials, corrosion protection, seam sealers, and supporting products correctly.

Coordinate body modifications and structural concerns with fabrication, engineering, project management, paint, assembly, and quality control.

Test-fit trim, lighting, bumpers, glass, weatherstripping, hardware, and adjacent components before final refinishing.

Maintain accurate measurements, reference points, photographs, notes, and protection of project parts.

Follow safe welding, grinding, dust control, PPE, material-handling, and shop practices.

Professional automotive restoration, body repair, custom bodywork, coachbuilding, collision, or comparable metal-finishing experience.

Ability to repair rust, replace panels, weld sheet metal, shape surfaces, apply filler, and develop accurate panel fitment.

Understanding of vehicle structure, panel alignment, gaps, corrosion protection, sealers, and refinishing preparation.

Experience with classic or custom vehicles and show-quality fit and finish is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with fiberglass or composite repair is beneficial.

Strong measuring, problem-solving, cleanliness, organization, and vehicle-protection habits.

Commitment to respiratory protection, PPE, ventilation, dust control, and safe equipment use.

A portfolio or practical demonstration of body and metalwork skills may be requested.
